Salvador Ferrandis studied Law at the Autonomous University of Madrid in 1987. Since then he has been specialising in Intellectual Property. Throughout the course of his career, he has actively cooperated with the University, mainly through postgraduate courses specialised in IP. Salvador has published in several magazines and books specialised in Intellectual Property.

In 2017 has been selected among the best IP practitioners in Spain by Chambers and Partners.

He is also co-author of Comentarios sobre la nueva Ley Española de Marcas, and Handbuch der Markenpiraterie in Europa (C.H. Beck), and of some articles such as Litigation Yearbook (Euromoney). Likewise, he has actively participated in International Forums such as “Fights against Piracy” of the Annual Meeting 122 of the INTA (International Trademark Association) in Denver, Colorado, or “Methods to fight piracy in the scenario of the new economy” of the AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property).

Salvador deals with both contentious and non contentious matters, being a specialist in Arbitration law and judicial proceedings related to trademarks, regularly taking part in arbitration procedures. With regard to non-contentious matters, he is experienced in licence programs, distribution agreements and other types of contracts related with International Property such franchises. Salvador also actively participates in cases of vegetable variety protection, at both registry level and contentious level. Salvador actively participates in several IP International Associations:

• International Trademark Association (INTA) of which he is member.
• European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA)
• Association Française des Praticiens du Droit des Marques et des Modèles (APRAM)
• Asociación Internacional para la Protección de la Propiedad Industrial (AIPPI), (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property)
• Asociación Española para la Defensa de la Marca (ANDEMA) (Spanish Association for Defence of the Trademark)

Salvador is member of the Bar Association of Madrid and the Bar Association of Valencia. He speaks English fluently.
